How to enable new payment methods with Stripe

Learn how to enable additional Stripe payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and Link.

This article explains how to enable additional payment methods from your Stripe account.

Use it when you want customers to access Stripe-supported payment options on your Learnybox payment forms, depending on their device, location, currency, and Stripe eligibility rules.

What payment methods can customers use?

Learnybox now uses Stripe’s default payment form.

Depending on your Stripe settings, this can allow customers to pay with additional payment methods beyond credit card payments, such as:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Klarna

  • Link

The payment methods displayed at checkout depend on Stripe’s own rules and the customer’s context.

Step 1 - Open your Stripe payment settings

  1. Log in to your Stripe account.

  2. Click Settings at the top right.

  3. Select Payments

Step 2 - Open the Payment methods tab

  1. Open the Payment methods tab.

  2. Click Default to view and manage the available payment method options.

Step 3 - Enable or disable payment methods

  1. From this page, enable or disable the payment methods you want to make available through Stripe.

⚠️ Some payment methods, such as Link, may take a few hours to become fully active after being enabled.

Important: Stripe determines which payment methods are displayed

The payment methods shown on your payment forms are dynamically managed by Stripe.

This is not a bug or misconfiguration. Stripe determines which payment options to display based on several factors, including:

  • The customer’s device.

  • The customer’s geographic location.

  • The transaction currency and amount.

  • The customer’s browser and operating system.

  • Stripe’s internal eligibility rules and risk assessment.

For example, Apple Pay may only appear on Safari with a registered Apple Wallet.

Klarna may only appear in certain countries.

Some payment methods may only be available for specific currencies or payment amounts.

As a result, different customers may see different payment methods on the same payment form, depending on their environment and context.

What happens after activation?

Once a payment method is enabled in Stripe, it can become available on your Learnybox payment forms when Stripe determines that the customer and transaction are eligible.
