Choosing the right delivery method for your course is crucial, as it determines how and when your members can access course content (modules and pages). Here’s a breakdown of the available delivery methods:

Scheduled Modules Method:

This method allows you to schedule when modules and pages become available to your members. You can set access either on fixed dates or dates relative to each member’s registration date.

To set access dates:

  1. Navigate to your course’s Content tab.

  2. For any module or page, click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) to the right, and select Page properties or Module properties, depending on the item you want to adjust.

  3. You can schedule access based on how long a member has been registered (i.e., the number of days after registration before they can access a module or page) and/or set a fixed access date if you want to prevent access before a specific date.

Examples:

  • Set 0 Days (post-registration) for immediate access after registration.

  • Schedule access to a module after a specific number of days (e.g. the 1st page of Module 1 can be accessed immediately upon member registration, the 2nd page 1 day later, the 3rd page 2 days later, etc.)

If you haven’t set any access dates specifically for the module's pages, these will be accessible at the same time as the module.

If you create a course that has 8 modules and you want to open access to one module per week, you can set the 1st module to be accessible on day 0, the 2nd module on day 7 (D+7), the 3rd module on day 14 (D+14), etc.
Note: these dates are relative to each member’s date of registration.

Daily or Weekly Course Method:

This method offers flexibility by allowing members to choose their learning days. With this method, your course members will be able to select the days of the week on which they want to gain access to new content (modules and pages). Your members can select their learning days based on the weekly learning days you’ve made available for selection in your course settings.

With this method, your members only have access to the first module of the course. They must then select their learning days. New modules will only be unlocked on each member’s selected learning days.

You can set the maximum number of learning days per week in the Limits tab of your course settings (e.g. a maximum of 3 days per week)

From a member’s point of view:

  • Members are invited to choose their learning days when they first log in to their course area. They can also set their learning days through their profile settings (Edit my profileCourse options)

Use case: This method is ideal for programs like sports training to ensure adherence to rest days.

Open Access Method:

This method provides members with full, unrestricted access to all course content from the moment they enroll.

Use Case: Ideal for courses where you want to allow complete freedom in accessing content (no access restrictions).

Restricted Open Access Method:

Similar to the Open Access Method, but with a crucial difference: members must complete modules in a specific order. They can only progress to the next module after finishing the previous one.

Note: This method is the only one that can lock access to further course content until your members complete an evaluation by achieving a required passing score.
E.g. Members can only access Module 2 once they have passed the evaluation you’ve added at the end of Module 1.

Subscription Method:

This method restricts access to content published only after a member’s registration date. Members will not be able to access any content published during the months prior to their registration and they will only have access to the latest published course module.

In other words, if your course has been active for 6 months and a new member is registered, they will only have access to the content published during the month of their registration and in any subsequent months. They will not have access to content published in the months prior to their registration.

Use case: Suitable for private blogs or content where only new material should be accessible to new members.
