Use the News Feature to Share Important Information with Course Members
The News feature allows you to share important announcements with your course members — such as feature updates, event notifications, or reminders. News items appear as pop-up messages in the course area when members log in.
To create news:
Select your course and open the Settings tab.
Open the News sub-tab.
Click on Create news.
Enter a title for your news and write its content.
Toggle the Status option to set the news to Published — if you want the news to be shared immediately. If left disabled, the news will remain unpublished until you manually publish it or schedule an automatic publication.
Set an automatic publication date (only if the news is not yet published).
Set an expiration date — the news will no longer be shown after this date.
Click Confirm changes to save your news.
Note: You can manually publish scheduled news at any time. To do so, return to the News tab, edit the news item, set your news to Published, and save your changes.
