You can set a time limit per page in your surveys, quizzes, or evaluations. This allows you to give participants a limited amount of time to answer the questions displayed on a specific page.

How Page Timing Works

  • A countdown timer will be displayed at the top of the page if a time limit is set.

  • Once the timer runs out, the page is automatically submitted, and participants are redirected to the next page.

  • You can set different time limits for different pages.

  • Keeping the default value (0) means unlimited time on that page.

Note: The time limit is applied to a page, not to individual questions. You can group multiple questions on the same page, or assign one question per page if you want to set a time limit per question.

Structuring Questions Across Pages

To control the pacing of your questionnaire, you can choose how to distribute your questions across different pages:

Example: If you have a quiz with 20 questions and want 4 timed pages (5 questions each):

  1. When creating the first question in your quiz, assign it to a new page (this will create Page 1).

  2. Assign the following questions (2-5) to Page 1.

  3. When creating Question 6, assign it to a new page (this will create Page 2).

  4. Assign Questions 7-10 to Page 2.

  5. When creating Question 11, assign it to a new page (this will create Page 3).

  6. Assign Questions 12-15 to Page 3.

  7. When creating Question 16, assign it to a new page (this will create Page 4).

  8. Assign Questions 16-20 to Page 4.

Each of these 4 pages can now have their own time limit.

Steps to Set Time Limit per Page

  1. Access Questionnaire

    • Navigate to Tools & Teaching Quizzes or Evaluations (for quizzes or evaluations).

    • Or navigate to MarketingSurveys (for surveys).

    • Select the questionnaire you wish to configure.

    • Open the Questions tab.

  2. Edit Page Settings

    • Click the Edit icon next to any question on the page you want to time.

    • Under Page display time, set the time limit (in seconds).

    • Optionally, configure the page description, which will appear above the timer.

    • Click Confirm to save and apply your changes.

  3. Repeat for Other Pages (if needed)

    • You can set different time limits for different pages.

    • Keeping the default value (0) means unlimited time on the page.

Once configured, participants will see a countdown timer for each timed page and will need to submit their answers before the timer expires.
