To set up this restriction, your course must use the Restricted Open Access delivery method. This is the only method that allows you to conditionally control access to the next course page based on questionnaire completion.

Objective

Prevent course members from continuing to the next course module or page until they have completed and passed a quiz or evaluation embedded in the current page.

Steps to Set It Up

1. Hide "Next" Button on Page

  • Navigate to AcademyCourses

  • Select the course you wish to configure

  • Open the Content tab

  • Locate the course page that contains (or will contain) your quiz or evaluation

  • Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) to the right of the page, and select Page properties

  • Enable the Hide “Next” button option

This ensures that learners will only be able to move forward if a specific condition is met.

2. Add Questionnaire to Course Page (if not already done)

  • Navigate to AcademyCourses

  • Select the course you wish to configure

  • Open the Content tab

  • Locate the course page you wish to configure

  • Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) to the right of the page, and select Build to open the page using the page editor

  • In the Elements panel, scroll to Dynamic elements

  • Drag and drop the Survey Quiz Evaluation element onto the page

  • Select the quiz or evaluation you want to embed

  • Click Finish (top right) to save and apply your changes

3. a) For a Quiz

  • Navigate to Tools & Teaching Quizzes

  • Select the quiz you wish to configure

  • Open the Settings tab, then open the Registration sub-tab

  • Set a minimum passing score (e.g., 70%)

Once a learner completes the quiz and achieves the minimum passing score, the “Next” button will automatically appear, allowing them to proceed.

3b. For an Evaluation

  • Navigate to Tools & Teaching Evaluations

  • Select the evaluation you wish to configure

  • Open the Actions tab

  • Click on Create action

  • Set the action: Give access to the next page of the current course

  • Set a score range that represents a passing result

    • This range should match the scoring logic you’ve set in the Calculations tab

If the participant’s score falls within the set range, the “Next” button will appear, unlocking access to the next course page.
