This article explains how to exclude a specific product from affiliate commissions.
Use it when your affiliate campaign is linked to a sales funnel containing several products, but you do not want commissions to be generated for purchases of one of those products.
Why commissions may be generated for the product
When an affiliate campaign is linked to a sales funnel, orders placed through that funnel can generate affiliate commissions when the customer previously clicked an affiliate link.
If your funnel contains several products and one of them should not generate a commission, you can either add a rule to the affiliate campaign or sell that product through a separate sales funnel.
Option 1: Add a Rule to Your Affiliate Campaign
1. Access affiliate campaign
Go to Sales → Affiliation
Open the Campaigns tab
Click the name of the campaign you wish to configure.
2. Create a new rule
Open the Rules tab
Click Add Rule to create a new rule affecting your desired product.
3. Configure the exclusion rule
Set the following parameters:
Condition: If the product name linked to the transaction is → enter the product name
Action: Do not generate a commission
Click Confirm (bottom right) to save your new rule.
Purchases of the specified product will no longer generate affiliate commissions.
Option 2: Use a Separate Sales Funnel
You can also move the order page for the product you want to exclude to a different sales funnel.
Make sure this second funnel is not linked to an affiliate campaign. Orders placed through that funnel will therefore not generate affiliate commissions.
Which option should you use?
Use a campaign rule if you want to keep all products within the same affiliated sales funnel.
Use a separate sales funnel if you want the excluded product to remain completely outside the affiliate campaign.
