How to configure VAT for your payment forms

Learn how to configure VAT rules for your payment forms.

This article explains how to configure VAT rules for a payment form.

Use it when you want Learnybox to apply country-specific tax rules based on the customer’s location, or when you need to manually set VAT rates for specific regions.

1. Access VAT Settings

  1. Go to SalesOffers

  2. In the Forms tab, select the offer you wish to configure.

  3. Open the Settings tab.

  4. Open the VAT Rules sub-tab.

2. Configure VAT Rules

In the VAT Management section, you can enable the following options:

  • VAT per country
Automatically applies the correct VAT rate based on the customer’s country at checkout.

  • Intra-Community VAT
Enable Intra-Community VAT management to allow VAT exemption for eligible customers in the European Union if they provide a valid intra-community VAT number.

  • Automatic VAT Calculation
Enable automatic VAT calculation if the final price displayed to the customer already includes tax.

When this option is enabled, Learnybox calculates the VAT portion from the tax-inclusive amount.

This means the base price excluding VAT varies depending on the VAT rate.

Set VAT rates manually

You can also manually set VAT rates for specific regions, including:

  • European Union countries

  • U.S. states

  • Canadian provinces

  • other countries

Apply the Same VAT Rate for Multiple Countries

To simplify your configuration, you can set a uniform VAT rate across regions:

  • Apply the same rate to all European Union countries

  • Apply the same rate to all U.S. states

  • Apply the same rate to all Canadian provinces

  • Apply the same rate to all countries outside the EU

Example for EU countries:

Once you've finished configuring your VAT settings, click Confirm (bottom right of the page) to save and apply your changes.
