This article explains how to create a live webinar in Learnybox, connect a YouTube account, and select that account for the live broadcast.
It also explains what to check in YouTube Studio before using YouTube as your webinar broadcast channel.
Step 1 - Check your YouTube channel
Open YouTube Studio with the YouTube account that will be used to broadcast the webinar.
In YouTube Studio:
Go to Settings.
Open the Channel settings sub-tab.
Open the Feature eligibility tab.
In the Advanced features section, check the status shown for your channel. Depending on your channel, YouTube may show the feature level as Enabled, Eligible, or unavailable until additional requirements are met.
The Advanced features section includes Embed live streams, which is required to use YouTube as the broadcast channel for a Learnybox live webinar.
If Advanced features are not enabled, YouTube may ask you to complete one of the available verification methods, such as:
video verification
valid ID verification
sufficient channel history
Make sure intermediate features are enabled beforehand, as they are required to enable advanced features.
For more details, please refer to this article:
You can still create and prepare your webinar in Learnybox before your YouTube channel has access to all required features. However, you will not be able to complete the YouTube broadcast setup or start the broadcast through YouTube until those features are available on your channel.
Step 2 - Create the live webinar in Learnybox
In Learnybox:
Step 3 - Enter the name and date
In the Date step:
Enter the webinar name.
Select the webinar's date & time.
Select the time zone.
Click Next step (bottom right).
Step 4 - Choose the presenters
In the Presenters step:
Use the search field to select the presenters for the live webinar.
If needed, click Add presenter to create and register a new presenter in your webinar presenter list (if not yet created).
Click Next step (bottom right).
Step 5 - Choose the chat type
In the Studio step, choose the chat type that will be available when the live webinar starts. You can select:
- Private chat
- Public chat
- Chat disabled
Note: You can change the chat type at any time before or during your live webinar.
Click Next step (bottom right).
Step 6 - Access quick customization
On the confirmation screen, Learnybox indicates that the default pages for the live webinar are ready.
Click Customize quickly (bottom right) to edit some of the visual elements on these pages, or click Finish to access your newly created webinar dashboard.
Step 7 - Open the broadcast configuration
You will find yourself in the Studio & Pages tab of your live webinar dashboard.
Click Set up broadcast (top right)
Step 8 - Choose YouTube broadcast
In the Start live webinar window:
Select Broadcast on YouTube
Review your current subscription limits if needed.
Click Add YouTube account
Step 9 - Authorize the YouTube connection
A Connect to YouTube page will open. Read the information shown on the page. It explains that you will be redirected to YouTube to authorize LearnyBox to access your YouTube channel. Once connected, this channel can be used to broadcast your live webinar.
The page also reminds you that, by using the API connection between Learnybox and YouTube, you acknowledge and accept YouTube’s Terms of Service, Google’s Privacy Policy, and Learnybox’s Privacy Policy.
It also explains that:
the API connection relies on YouTube API services,
Learnybox only stores your YouTube channel name and ID to facilitate live webinar broadcasts,
you can delete the API integration between Learnybox and YouTube at any time,
you can revoke Learnybox’s access from your Google Security Settings,
you can contact Learnybox support if you have any questions or concerns about Learnybox’s privacy practices.
Click Connect to YouTube, then complete the authorization steps on YouTube.
Step 10 - Select the YouTube account to use
Back in the Start live webinar window:
This YouTube account will be used for the live webinar broadcast.
What your participants will experience
Broadcasting your webinar on YouTube does not replace the webinar journey created in Learnybox.
Your participants will still use the Learnybox webinar pages to register, log in, access the live session, and view the end-of-webinar page.
The default webinar pages remain available in the Studio & Pages tab:
Registration page
Registration confirmation page
Login page
Studio page
End-of-webinar page
The YouTube account selected is only used as the broadcast source for the live session.
