How to create a sequence loop

Learn how to create an automated connection between multiple email sequences to keep contacts moving through a recurring journey.

This article explains how to create a loop between two email sequences. When a contact completes one sequence, they are automatically moved to the other before being redirected back to the first sequence when the second one ends.

This setup is useful when you want to repeat an email journey without manually adding contacts to a new sequence each time.

Step 1: Create two email sequences

  1. Go to Marketing → Emails

  2. Open the Sequences tab

  3. Click Create sequence

Create 2 sequences. Add the necessary steps to each sequence, including the emails you want to send to your contacts.

Step 2: Add an action at the end of the first sequence

Once the first sequence has been configured, add an action to its final step.

From the sequence dashboard:

  1. Open the Steps tab

  2. Click Add step

  3. Select Add action

Configure the action to:

  1. Add the contact to the second sequence

  2. Remove the contact from the first sequence


With this setup, when the contact completes the first sequence, they are automatically transferred to the second one.

Step 3: Add an action at the end of the second sequence

Once the second sequence has been configured, add an action to its final step.

From the sequence dashboard:

  1. Open the Steps tab

  2. Click Add step

  3. Select Add action

Configure the action to:

  1. Add the contact to the first sequence

  2. Remove the contact from the second sequence

With this setup, when the contact completes the second sequence, they are automatically transferred back to the first one.

What happens after configuration?

Once the two sequences have been connected:

  1. The contact starts in the first sequence.

  2. At the end of the first sequence, they are added to the second sequence and removed from the first.

  3. At the end of the second sequence, they are added back to the first sequence and removed from the second.

  4. The cycle then starts again automatically.

This configuration creates a continuous loop between the two sequences. You can update the existing email steps at any time if needed.

Yes. The loop works by automatically moving the contact between two separate sequences.

What happens if the contact is not removed from the previous sequence?

The contact may remain associated with both sequences at the same time, creating a conflict in your communication strategy.
