How to configure an email sequence step delay

Learn how to configure the delay and advanced scheduling options for a step in an email sequence.


This article explains how to set advanced scheduling options for a step in an email sequence.

Use it when you want to control exactly when a sequence email is sent, based on a delay after the previous step or on specific scheduling rules.


1. Access Email Sequence

  • Navigate to MarketingEmailsSequences tab.

  • Click the name of the sequence that contains the email step you wish to configure.

2. Edit Step

  • In the Steps tab, locate the relevant email.

  • Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the step and select Configure step.

3. Set Step Execution Delay

  • In the scheduling options, specify the delay (in days, hours, or minutes) after the previous step before this email is sent.

  • This allows you to control the pacing of your sequence.

4. Customize Advanced Settings (Optional)

Click on Display advanced settings to access more detailed options:

  • Time of day: Set the exact time you want the email to be sent.

  • Days of the week: Select specific days of the week the email is allowed to be sent.

  • Fixed date: Choose a specific calendar date for the email to be sent.

  • Time zone: Select the time zone for your email scheduling.

By adjusting these settings, you can create a highly tailored email sequence that aligns with your campaign objectives.
