This article explains why your clients may not receive your emails when you use a free sender address or an unauthenticated domain.
Use it when you want to improve email delivery by updating your sender address and configuring your domain’s DNS records for transactional emails and LearnyMail marketing emails.
If your clients aren’t receiving your emails, one common reason could be the use of a free email address (e.g., myname@gmail.com or myname@yahoo.com). Here’s why this can affect deliverability — and how to fix it.
1. Avoid Using Free Email Addresses
Free email addresses are considered private and are more likely to be flagged as spam by email service providers.
Using a private address for professional communications may also violate CNIL (or broader European Data Protection Board) guidelines.
Solution:
We strongly recommend using a professional email address from a domain hosting provider (e.g., OVH, IONOS, or Gandi).
For example: contact@mycompany.com
This improves deliverability and gives you access to advanced authentication options.
2. Update Your Sender Address
▸ For Transactional Emails
To update the email address used for system notifications (e.g., order confirmations):
Navigate to your account settings.
Access the Emails section.
Set your sender name and email address.
Add your custom sending domain
Then follow the configuration steps:Log in to your DNS hosting provider.
Create the required TXT records to configure validation codes, DKIM, and DMARC.
Update your SPF record to include the following mechanism:
include:learnybox.com
Once everything is correctly configured, Learnybox will display the message:
“Perfect! Your sender email address is properly configured”

▸ For Marketing Emails (LearnyMail)
To update the address used for your normal marketing emails — newsletters, broadcasts, and email sequences:
Navigate to Marketing → Emails → Settings tab
Set your default sender name and email address.
Tick the checkbox below to apply this information to all existing emails, ensuring outdated sender details are overwritten.
By using a professional email address and properly configuring your domain’s DNS records, you greatly improve the chances of your emails being successfully delivered to your clients.
This helps email providers verify that Learnybox is allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain. At this stage, your sender address is professional, authenticated, and better configured for email delivery.
