This article explains how Steps, Broadcasts, and Contacts work together inside a LearnyMail sequence.
Use it when you want to understand where contacts appear after registration, how they move from one step to the next, and how sequence statistics should be interpreted.
1. Contact Registration
When someone becomes registered in your email sequence, they’re immediately added as a contact, and will be listed in the Contacts tab of the sequence.
They are automatically placed in the first step of the sequence. You can track how many contacts are in each step from the Steps tab.
2. Sequence Progression
Based on your configuration for Step 1 (e.g., “Send at time of registration” to trigger immediately), the contact is added to that step’s Broadcasts.
After the email is sent, they’re automatically moved to Step 2 (under Contacts).
3. Moving Through Steps
Contacts continue moving through the sequence, transitioning from the Contacts to the Broadcasts of each step in order.
This continues until they complete the final step of the sequence.
Note: Step statistics (contact and broadcast counts) update asynchronously. For sequences with many contacts or larger broadcasts, updates may take a few minutes to reflect accurately.
