Required documents to validate your LearnyPay wallet

Learn how to prepare the correct required documents to verify your LearnyPay wallet as quickly and easily as possible.

When you create your LearnyPay wallet, you must provide several documents so that MangoPay, our payment provider, can verify your identity and business activity. The documents required may vary depending on your legal status and country.

This article summarizes the best practices to follow to save time and focus on what matters most: your business.

Where should you submit your documents?

Access your LearnyPay wallet:

  1. Go to Sales → LearnyPay Wallets → select your wallet

  2. Open the Settings tab → Verification sub-tab

Documents required according to your legal status in France

1. Corporation

Four documents are required:

  • Proof of identity: a valid identity document for the legal representative

  • Proof of business registration issued within the last three months

  • The latest version of the company’s articles of association, dated and signed

  • Company information

⚠️ Depending on your situation, MangoPay may also ask you to confirm or complete information about your company’s beneficial owners directly during the verification process. Keep the identity documents and information of anyone who owns or controls the company readily available.

⚠️ Once your documents have been submitted, the verification process continues with several identity checks. Some of these steps require a smartphone.

2. Association

Three documents are required:

  • Proof of identity: a valid identity document for the legal representative

  • Proof of business registration issued within the last three months

  • The latest version of the company’s articles of association, dated and signed

3. Self-employed entrepreneur or independent professional

Two documents are required:

  • Proof of identity: a valid identity document for the legal representative

  • Declaration of self-employed activity

Complete your identity verification

After your documents have been submitted, MangoPay may request additional information to confirm your identity and the legitimacy of your business activity.

Depending on your situation, you may be asked to:

  • provide information about the company’s beneficial owners

  • confirm certain administrative details

  • complete a selfie verification

The selfie confirms that the person completing the verification matches the person shown on the submitted identity document.

Documents required for other countries

When your business is based outside France, the accepted documents may vary depending on your country.

For a full list covering countries such as Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and other countries outside the European Union, please refer to MangoPay’s official documentation: List of accepted documents by country

Best practices for submitting documents

Regardless of your legal status, the following rules apply to all submitted documents.

Image quality

  • Use a color document. Black-and-white documents are systematically rejected.

  • Whenever possible, submit a photograph rather than a scan, as scanning can sometimes make letters difficult to read.

  • Check the lighting. Reflections must not obscure any number, letter, or part of a face.

  • Make sure all edges of the document are visible. A cropped corner or edge will make the document invalid.

File format

  • One document must be submitted as one PDF file. When a document contains several pages, combine all pages into a single PDF.

  • The maximum file size is 4 MB. Larger files will be rejected during upload.

Date and signature

For administrative documents such as articles of association, shareholder declarations, and certificates:

  • the document must be both dated and signed, not merely signed

  • the date must be within the last three months

Your information must match exactly

The information entered in your LearnyPay wallet must match your official documents exactly, including spelling and formatting.

For the legal representative

  • Enter every first name shown on the identity document.

  • Accents matter: “Chloe” is not the same as “Chloé”.

  • Hyphens and apostrophes must be preserved: “Mary Anne” is not the same as “Mary-Anne".

For the company

  • The company name and address must exactly match the information shown on the registration document.

What happens on the MangoPay side?

Once your documents and information have been submitted, MangoPay reviews them to verify your identity and the information relating to your business activity.

During the review:

  • your wallet remains in a pending validation status

  • you cannot yet transfer funds to your bank account

Depending on your situation, MangoPay may also verify information about the company’s beneficial owners, its business activities, and its legal documentation during the identity verification process.

Once the review is complete, there are two possible outcomes:

  • Verification approved

  • Verification rejected, with the reason provided

What should you do if verification is rejected?

When a document is rejected, the reason will be displayed.

Review the relevant document, follow the best practices in this article, pay particular attention to the stated reason, and then submit it again.

⚠️ When the rejection is caused by inconsistent information, first review and correct the details entered in your LearnyPay wallet before submitting the document again.
