How to create your LearnyPay wallet

Learn how to create your LearnyPay wallet to collect payments and transfer your balance to your bank account.

This article explains how to create your LearnyPay wallet, submit it for MangoPay validation, and add a bank account to receive balance transfers.

Use it when you want to collect card payments with LearnyPay, then transfer the funds received to your bank account once your wallet has been validated.

Before you start

LearnyPay is Learnybox’s built-in payment method. It allows you to collect payments from your customers without opening an account on an external payment platform.

Creating your LearnyPay wallet takes about 10 minutes.

Once your wallet has been created, you can start collecting payments from your customers. The funds received are credited to your LearnyPay wallet.

To transfer your balance to your bank account, your wallet must first be verified and validated by MangoPay.

⚠️ If you leave the verification process before submitting your request, you can resume your session where you left off. However, if your request has already been submitted and then refused, you must start a new verification session and resubmit all required documents.

Create your LearnyPay wallet

  1. Go to Sales → LearnyPay Wallets

  2. Click Create LearnyPay wallet

Step 1 – Read the preliminary information

The first page provides an overview of LearnyPay, the currencies supported by LearnyPay, and the countries where LearnyPay transactions are not supported.

Take the time to read all the information on this page, then click Next step (bottom right of the page).

Step 2 – Enter your personal information

Enter your personal information as the legal representative, including your:

  • First name(s)

  • Last name

  • Date of birth

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Nationality

The information you enter must match your identity document exactly.

⚠️ Important: Pay attention to accents, apostrophes, and hyphens. For example, Chloé and Chloe are not considered identical. Similarly, Mary-Anne and Mary Anne are different.

Once all required information has been filled out click Next step.

Step 3 – Enter your address

Enter your address so that it can be recognized automatically.

If the automatic suggestion does not work, click Enter address manually to enter it manually, then fill out each field individually.

Once you're done, click Next step.

Step 4 – Enter your business information

First, select the company type that matches your situation:

  • Corporation

  • Association

  • Self-employed entrepreneur or independent professional

⚠️ This choice determines which documents MangoPay may request when validating your wallet.

To check which documents you need to prepare based on your situation, see:

Required documents to validate your LearnyPay wallet

Then enter the required information, including:

  • Your company name, exactly as it shown on your business registration document.

  • Your intra-Community VAT number (EU VAT number), required for B2B electronic invoicing within the European Union.

  • Your business registration number (e.g., SIREN number for French businesses).

  • Your company address, identical to the one shown on your official documents.

Once you're done, click Next step.

Click Continue to access your newly created wallet's main dashboard.

Step 5 - Enable two-factor authentication

Enable two-factor authentication.

This step is required before your wallet can be validated by MangoPay.

Once two-factor authentication is enabled, your LearnyPay wallet is created. You can use it in your payment forms and start collecting payments from your customers.

The funds received are credited to your LearnyPay wallet.

What happens after the wallet is created?

Creating your wallet and having it validated by MangoPay are two separate steps.

Your wallet can be used to collect payments before your file has been fully validated. However, to transfer your balance to your bank account, you must submit your verification documents and add your bank account.

Submit your documents for validation

Once two-factor authentication is enabled, go to Settings → Verification to submit your supporting documents.

To check which documents are required for your situation and how to avoid validation refusal, see:

Required documents to validate your LearnyPay wallet

If you leave the verification process before submitting your request

Your progress is saved if you leave the process or are interrupted before submitting your request.

When you return to Learnybox, go back to your LearnyPay wallet's verification settings, then click Resume verification

You will return to the current session at the step where you left off. The information you already entered does not need to be entered again.

Remember: as long as your request has not been submitted, use Resume verification to continue the existing session.

If your request is submitted and then refused

When MangoPay identifies one or more errors in the documents submitted, you receive an email notification explaining that your request was not successful.

An error message is also displayed in Learnybox.

Example:

Review the refusal reason before restarting your request. This helps you identify which document or detail needs to be corrected and avoid submitting the same error again.

Important: use the Restart button carefully

After a refusal, restarting does not resume your previous session.

This button creates a new verification request session. You must resubmit all required documents in this new session, including documents that were already submitted in the first request.

Before restarting, review the refusal reason and correct the relevant document or information.

  1. From your wallet's dashboard, open the Settings tab.

  2. Open the Bank accounts sub-tab.

  3. Click Add bank account

Two options are available:

  • Bank account: for accounts where the bank is located in the same country or region as your company or association.

  • International bank account: for accounts where the bank is not located in the same country or region as your company or association.

Each transfer is subject to a 2.6% fee (VAT included).

How long does wallet validation take?

Once your documents have been submitted and your bank details have been entered, MangoPay reviews your file within 48 hours.

During this review, your wallet remains available to collect payments from your customers. Funds continue to be credited to your LearnyPay balance. However, you cannot transfer this balance to your bank account yet.

Transfers are unlocked only after validation. After the review, there are two possible outcomes:

1. Validation accepted

Your wallet is validated.

You can now transfer your LearnyPay balance to your bank account.

2. Validation refused

Your request is refused when one or more submitted items require correction.

The refusal reason is shared in the email you receive and in the message displayed in Learnybox.

Review this reason before restarting the verification process. You must then create a new session and resubmit all required documents.
