This article explains how to configure visitor tracking for an affiliate campaign.
Use it when you want to define how long a visitor should remain associated with an affiliate after clicking an affiliate link.
What is visitor tracking?
Visitor tracking defines how long a visitor’s activity can be tracked and attributed to an affiliate after their first visit through an affiliate link.
For example, if you set a tracking duration of 30 days, the visitor can be associated with the affiliate for a 30-day tracking window.
Steps to Configure Visitor Tracking
1. Access affiliate campaign settings
2. Set the tracking duration
From the campaign dashboard, open the Settings tab.
Locate the Tracking duration setting.
Enter the number of days during which visitor activity should be tracked after the visitor’s first visit through an affiliate link.
Example: Enter 30 to set a 30-day tracking window.
⚠️ Understand the default value
When the value is set to 0, tracking is unlimited. In this case, visitor data is stored for up to 10 years.
4. Save your changes
Click Confirm (bottom right of the page) to save and apply your changes.
Recommendations
A tracking duration between 30 and 90 days is generally recommended to align with common affiliate practices.
Unlimited tracking, using the value 0, should only be used for campaigns that require long-term visitor tracking.
