How to redirect your root domain to your custom subdomain

Set up domain forwarding so visitors can access your Learnybox website whether they enter your domain with or without www

This article explains how to redirect your root domain to the custom subdomain connected to Learnybox.

You'll learn how to configure domain forwarding through your hosting provider so visitors can reach your website using either address.

Why do you need to redirect your root domain?

When you connect a custom subdomain, such as www.mydomain.com, to Learnybox, visitors who enter mydomain.com (without www) won't automatically be redirected to your website.

To ensure visitors can access your website using either address, you need to set up a redirect from your root domain to your custom subdomain.

For example:

mydomain.com → www.mydomain.com

This redirection must be configured through your DNS hosting provider, such as OVH, IONOS, or GoDaddy.

Step 1 - Access your domain forwarding settings

  1. Log in to your DNS hosting provider.

  2. Locate the redirection or domain forwarding settings for your domain.

Step 2 - Configure the redirection

Create a redirect using the following addresses:

  • Source: mydomain.com

  • Destination: www.mydomain.com

Replace these examples with your own root domain and the custom subdomain connected to Learnybox.

Once the redirection is configured, visitors entering your root domain will be redirected to your Learnybox website through your custom subdomain.

⚠️ Learnybox only manages subdomains. Root domain redirections must be configured directly through your hosting provider.

If you're unsure how to set up the redirection, contact your domain provider's support team or your network administrator for assistance.
