This article explains how to verify whether a customer accepted your Terms and Conditions of Sale (T&Cs) by checking the relevant transaction details.
It also covers how to require T&C acceptance during checkout, who can access this information, and whether the terms are automatically sent to customers after a purchase.
When you enable T&C acceptance for a product, customers must check the corresponding box before completing their payment.
After the purchase, the account administrator can verify whether the customer accepted the T&Cs by reviewing the transaction details.
Where can you verify T&C acceptance?
Open the relevant transaction details. In the Customer Information section, you will find information about T&C acceptance if the customer accepted the terms.
The acceptance is displayed as a text confirmation, such as:
General Terms and Conditions of Sale: I have read and unconditionally agree to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale. Read the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
This allows you to confirm whether the T&Cs were accepted for that specific transaction.
Who can access this information?
T&C acceptance information in the transaction details is accessible to the account administrator
Is T&C acceptance linked to the customer or the transaction?
T&C acceptance is linked to the specific transaction for which the payment was made. It is not recorded as a general acceptance that applies to all purchases made by the same customer.
If a customer makes multiple purchases through separate transactions, T&C acceptance is recorded individually for each transaction.
What happens if multiple products are purchased in the same transaction?
When multiple products are purchased in a single transaction, T&C acceptance is recorded only once for that transaction.
This means that a separate T&C acceptance record is not created for each product purchased within the same transaction.
How can you require customers to accept the T&Cs during checkout?
You can configure this option in your offer's field settings.
In your offer's dashboard, open the Settings tab.
Open the Fields sub-tab.
Enable the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy option.
Once the option is enabled, you can specify:
The page containing your Terms and Conditions of Sale.
The link text for your Terms and Conditions of Sale.
The page containing your Privacy Policy.
The link text for your Privacy Policy.
Once you're done, click Next step (bottom right) to save and apply your changes.
This allows you to require customers to accept your Terms and Conditions of Sale and/or inform them about your Privacy Policy, before completing their purchase.
Verify the checkbox during checkout
During checkout, the location of the T&C acceptance checkbox depends on the type of payment form you are using.
For a one-step payment form, the T&C acceptance checkbox appears in the Order details section.
For a three-step payment form, the T&C acceptance checkbox appears in the Payment step (step 3).
The text displayed next to the checkbox corresponds to the text you configured in your offer's field settings.
Are the T&Cs automatically sent by email after a purchase?
No. The accepted T&Cs are not automatically sent as an email attachment after each purchase.
If you also want to send an invoice to your customers, you can configure automatic invoice generation. For more information, see:
