What to do if your Vimeo videos are not accessible on the mobile app

Learn how to configure Vimeo privacy settings so your videos work properly in the Learnybox mobile app.

This article explains which Vimeo privacy settings to check when your videos do not play correctly in the Learnybox mobile app.

Use it to make sure your Vimeo videos can be embedded and loaded without restrictions on mobile.

Check your Vimeo privacy settings

If your Vimeo videos aren’t playing in the Learnybox mobile app, the issue is usually related to Vimeo’s privacy settings. Follow the steps below to ensure your videos are properly configured for mobile app playback.

Recommended Vimeo settings:

  1. Do not enable domain restrictions
Domain-level privacy settings can block playback in the mobile app.

  2. Set the video visibility to “Hide from Vimeo

    • When sharing the video, choose "Hide from Vimeo". This prevents the video from being found on Vimeo while still allowing it to be embedded in your course.

  3. Allow embedding anywhere

    • In the Embed tab, set the embed privacy to Anywhere.
This ensures that Learnybox and the mobile app can load the video without restrictions.

Important:

  • After adjusting your video’s privacy settings, Vimeo may generate a new video link.

  • Make sure to copy the updated Vimeo link and replace the previous link in the video element of your course page (via the Learnybox course page editor).

  • Use the Vimeo video URL, not the embed code.

Correct format reminder: Ensure your final video URL matches the format expected by Learnybox for smooth app playback.
