This article explains how courses appear in the Academy and what visibility options are available.
Use it when you want to understand which courses are shown automatically, how to rearrange them, and whether specific courses can be hidden from the Academy catalog.
Once the Academy feature is active on your account, it automatically displays all active (online) courses from your course library in the Academy’s course catalog. These courses are included by default — no manual action is required to include them.
What Appears in the Academy?
All active (online) courses are automatically shown.
Deactivated (offline) courses are hidden from the Academy catalog.
Can you change the course display order?
Yes. You can rearrange how courses are displayed in your course catalog by dragging and dropping them in the Manage catalog section of your Academy settings.
Course Visibility Options
Each course has settings that determine who can see it in the Academy. By default, courses are always visible to members who are registered for them. However, two additional visibility options are available:
Visible to all Academy members
The course appears under the “Other courses” section on the member’s Academy dashboard.
Members can see it even if they are not enrolled.
Visible to all visitors (Public view)
The course is publicly visible to anyone, including visitors who are not logged in.
Use this setting to maximize visibility for promotional or lead-generation purposes.
Note: To use the public view setting, ensure that the “Public view” option is enabled in your Academy visibility settings. If disabled, the Academy and course catalog will not be publicly visible.
Can you hide specific courses from the Academy?
No. Your courses are an integrated part of the Academy. As such, individual courses cannot be hidden from the Academy while they remain active.
To fully remove a course from the Academy catalog, you must deactivate it in your course settings.
Important: Deactivating a course makes it inaccessible to everyone, including members who were already registered.
